In every story, there’s a defining moment—a spark of inspiration that ignites change. For Work Wives™ founder, Monica Boudreau, that moment came in a feeling of need for genuine connection in the world of business.
Monica’s journey into entrepreneurship began when she founded posh media, a boutique marketing agency, at the age of 24. Like many, she was drawn by visions of freedom, success, and that constant hustle. But there’s another side to it that isn’t discussed as frequently: the emotional rollercoaster and loneliness that many entrepreneurs face.
Running your own business can be isolating. Entrepreneurs often work long hours, sacrificing personal and social time to build and manage their businesses. In the quiet moments of her relentless hustle, she realized that this path didn’t have to be walked alone. She quickly discovered that connecting with ambitious, like-minded female founders in Canada was nearly impossible. She felt the isolation of not having peers to share insights and challenges with, the struggle to find friends who truly understood her journey, and the lack of a supportive network.
Then it hit her: what if there was a space for women entrepreneurs to connect, share their experiences and support each other’s dreams right here in Canada?
She took it upon herself to create a solution: Work Wives™. A vibrant community where success is measured not by hours worked or titles held, but by the impact made and the connections forged.
With unwavering resolve and a heart full of empathy, she set out to create a vibrant community empowering Canadian women entrepreneurs to build and grow together. It was the support system Monica wished for when she began her own journey, and she knew countless others felt the same way.

Is Work Wives™ only digital, or are there in-person events too?
Work Wives™ is more than just a community – it’s a way of life! While our main focus is on creating a vibrant digital community where you can connect and grow with fellow female founders from anywhere in Canada, we’re also planning some member-exclusive IRL pop-up events coming soon.
Why do we have an application to join our community?
Our application process is designed to ensure you’re actively building a business, let us get to know you better, and find the perfect connections for you. It also helps us to identify the best resources to support your business growth.
What are the membership criterias?
Here’s what you need to qualify for membership:
- You’re an entrepreneur, founder, CEO or hold ownership stake in a business
- Your business is operating in Canada
- You have a genuine interest in connecting with other members and participate in discussions/events
- You showcase your desire to share value with the community
- We welcome all women and marginalized genders. Whether you identify with she/her, they/them or are still exploring your identity, you are welcome. Let’s make this crystal clear: trans women are women. Work Wives™ is Trans inclusive, because all women deserve a seat at our table.
What is the membership process like?
- Fill out the application: Our application form is super straightforward.
- Wait for review: After submitting your application, our team will review it and get back to you via email within 3-5 business days.
- Admission Notification: If your application is successful,we’ll email you about your acceptance and place you in the next available cohort. Cohorts begin every 4-6 weeks, so you won’t have to wait long to start. Keep an eye on your email for updates.
- Orientation & Community Access: A few days before your cohort orientation, we’ll charge your credit card and email you access to our exclusive online community. Make sure to check your email regularly, as it’s our primary way to communicate with you before orientation.
